Is a burnt tongue really bad?

That's it really. SIL said that if I burn my tongue e.g. on hot tea it can cause mouth cancer . She is certified hypochondriac and over-reactor. But is she right on this?

Um, sil is definitely over-reacting. She sounds like one of those people who think you'll become sterile if you swallow gum - if only!
