Scared call back after manogram

Hi I received a letter today for a call vack for my first manogram so worried and scared I go the 20th September any advice 🙏 please

It’s very common to be called back after a first mammogram and it’s probably nothing. Lots of areas are using more in depth imaging and picking up on things which are really nothing. Try not to worry.

Thank you jyst so scared when I git my invite for it I said am dreading it something will be wrong I know I sound silly am just so frightend they gave fave ne a number to phone might phone it tomorrow hopefully they might tell me why been called back

Mammograms aren't perfect technology so can give indistinct or insufficient imaging. If you have very dense breast tissue then it may simply be they need another image from a slightly different angle to be sure they can see the whole breast.

And even if they can see something, that doesn't necessarily mean bad news. I was recalled for what turned out to be a tiny calcium deposit.

I know it's difficult but try not to worry.

Aww that's good yrs was OK am usually very good with things like this but been struggling with anxiety abit I know I should think positively thank you for yr response 😊

In circumstances like this, I always think letter good, phone call bad. If the breast team are concerned about something, they will want to see you ASAP and will always call.

It is quite usual to be recalled after a first mammogram. As a PP mentioned, mammograms are not perfect, and the denser the breast tissue, the less clear the imaging can be. They're just being thorough and trying to establish a proper baseline for you, as well as check their original images.
