Recurrent Subconjunctival Hemmorhage

Hi there

I have had a Subconjunctival Hemmorhage SC (broken blood eye vessel in eye) 3 times now over the past 18 months. Each time it has affected either eye.

Each time I have had a diabetes check and blood pressure. My BP is always bordeline high - but not high yet.

I saw an eye specialist who advised that they are concerned by how many times I have had
an SC and therefore advised I get my bloods tested as they want to rule out any serious underlying health conditions.

Obviously I have been Dr Google and terrified myself slightly of worst case scenarios.

Just wondered if anyone else has had multiple SCs?

Any advice much appreciated.

Samila

Have they asked you to wear a BP monitor over a 24/48 hour period. I wonder if it's spiking at times.

They can also be caused by over-exertion, so it you vomit, lifts lots of heavy weights, that sort of thing.

Sounds as if the consultant is on the ball though

Thanks for getting back to me.

I had my BP checked today by a nurse and the reading was 139 over 90. I was feeling anxious at the time. She said that had it been 140 over 90 she would have advised the 24 hour monitoring.
