Unusual bleeding / HPV

Hi all, I’m not really sure why I’m posting here but guess I’m after some reassurance.

I had a smear test in January and I tested positive for HPV but no cell changes and have been put onto annual smears.

For the last few months I have had changes to my period. I have been having spotting for about 5 days before my period starts. I thought at first this was my period starting early but now think it was spotting.

This month I’ve had spotting on and off all month and I’ve started bleeding after sex. I’ve also been getting twinges in my pelvis on and off.

I went to the GP today who examined me and saw a red patch on my cervix and is referring me for a colposcopy. She said she wants to be sure it’s nothing sinister and to try not not worry.

I’ve got a 23 month old toddler, my mind is on overdrive now thinking I’ve got cervical cancer! Has anyone had anything similar?

It's probably just ectropion
Which is pretty common
As is HPV so it wouldn't be unusual to have both

Any update? Currently something similar sore and dr found red patch

Funnily enough , I've started having the same issue . Just a couple of months after I commented on this post .
