Running with pelvic floor prolapse???

Hi - Before I had my dd last year I loved running. I would usually do 5-7 miles 3 times a week. However, following her birth I developed a bladder and bowel prolapse. I was initially devestated but I saw the physio and did absolutley LOADS of pelvic floor exc and my prolapses now feel fine - I don't usually notice them anymore.

I would love to go back to running - my physio said 'No' but my consultant said 'no problem - I will be hoiking them up for you in a couple of years anyway'!!!. I tried a very short run last week but the next couple of days my pelvic floor felt slightly worse...

There isn't any info out there that I can find about running and pelvic floor prolapses - is there any runners out there who have had similar problems? Is it possible to go back to running distances or are my running days over! Sob!

When I asked my physio about exercise, she said only walking, swimming and cycling.

I would think that running would be too jarring.

If your consultant said 'yes' it was obviously because s/he knows you'll need the repair at some point. I can't help but think the running would hasten the need for it. on your behalf.

In my case it's my garden I'm about. The trouble is, the effects aren't instant. Once out there, I get carried away, do too much, then the next day realise things in the nether regions have got worse.
