Hi
My blood test results have just come back with high creatinine. No ones called yet from doctors. I am worried! Have to have another test I believe to check for chronic illness.

On my notes however, it says 'acceptable for patient' but also 'repeat to check for AKI risk'

If it's acceptable for patient, does that mean it's all okay??

Sorry, just unsure.

You should make a drs appointment

It sounds like they might be repeating it at your next blood test?
High creatinine can be a sign of the kidneys not working so well either acutely or a chronic deterioration - however it can also go up due to exercise, dehydration, high protein meals before the test. Your GP practice will have a protocol for when it needs repeating, and at what level to repeat it urgently.

Okay thank you. I wonder if I should call them to check.
I don't drink enough water so I am hoping that it is that. I am only 24 so really nervous Sad

I had this on a blood test recently, I did an online consultation with the dr to ask about it. I was told it can fluctuate and as I have blood tests every 3 months we would see whether it was high next time…. it wasn’t! Some times I’ve had blood tests it’s higher than others but it does go down. I take meds that could be affecting this and I don’t want to stop any of them.
