Can anyone help - is this pityriasis rosea??

Developed this rash three weeks ago (after initial large patch on my thigh) - it spread like wildfire (despite religiously putting antifungal cream on the original patch three times a day as we initially thought ringworm) and is still spreading. It’s on my chest, torso, back, hips, buttocks, groin, upper thighs, neck, and armpits. I’ve had four different diagnoses (nurse and I initially thought ringworm then GP thought erythema multiforme, and other GP said hives which it defo isn’t), and last nurse practitioner I saw finally thought pityriasis rosea. The new patches are maddeningly itchy and hot, worse when I am hot or my clothes rubs against them. I’m on two types of antihistamine but not sure what cream to put on as I’m still panicking it’s ringworm tbh :( Some of the original ones do seem to have faded on their own. It’s driving me mad and I can’t concentrate on work etc. I’d love to see a dermatologist but this hasn’t been suggested and private ones not available until November. Help!! (PS sorry for gross pics 😩)

I second the suggestion re using Head & Shoulders shampoo as a body wash. It really helped to calm the itching, as did calamine lotion. It took about 3 or 4 months for it to go completely but, if it’s any consolation, it didn’t spread to my face.

I feel for you OP, the itching was horrible, particularly between my bum cheeks!

@specialk9 - it might be nothing, but rashes/unusual marks on babies can signify lots of different things and some are very serious. I know that most times it’s nothing, but I wouldn’t risk it.

I had this a few years ago and the GP prescribed betamethasone valerate which worked a like miracle for the itching!

I used Selsun for this. Apply it 15 mins before showering a few times a week until it's cleared. My husband also has it but he uses Original Head & Shojlders which has the same anti fungal ingredient

It looks exactly like my pityriasis rosea. It was incredibly itchy for about 3 weeks and I was absolutely covered in it. The itching stopped but it lasted for about 2 months. I was prescribed fenofaxadine for itching and steroid cream and both enabled me to finally sleep.

Hi, please pleaseee get back to me and tell me if you ever found out what it was? This is the only post I’ve come across that actually has the exact same issues as me. Mine started with a HUGE circular patch on my thigh and then spread everywhere else. Mostly my back. It’s the 3rd time in three months that i’ve had this, doctors have told me it’s bedbug bites then pityriasis rosea (very uncommon for this to re occur) and also i’ve been told ringworm! i’m at my wits end, please give me some advice
