Weird blood pressure

I’ve been feeling really odd lately (pressure in head and face, ears feel strange, kind of dizzy/faint/woozy). Remembered we have a blood pressure monitor so decided to check it.
My blood pressure is always quite low (90/70 or so) but the past few days it’s been higher on top and lower below - 114/66
122/59
98/56
100/58
I’ve never seen my top number so high or bottom number so low….

Does this mean anything? Do I need to see GP?

I’ve been feeling crappy for years (stomach issues, dodgy joints, anaemia, etc) and have thyroid nodules but normal TSH.

I wouldn’t think twice if I had that batch of readings. They are all within a normal healthy range and b/p does vary very widely throughout the day/when doing different things.

Cazzovuoi · 02/09/2023 14:16

They’re all in the normal range. Maybe step away from the monitoring because blood pressure does fluctuate.

Edited to add that your symptoms sound like autoimmune. Get your ANA tested.

Normal readings, BP's vary put the machine away.

I'd be over the moon if I had blood pressure like that.

200/105 I had a whooshing sound in my ears and a headache mind you. Paramedics were impressed, shocked, but impressed.

BlackInk · 02/09/2023 14:29

I thought that top number should be below 120 and bottom number above 70?
It’s definitely unusual for my top number to be so high and my bottom number so low. Anyway, thank you and will step away from the monitor!

@Cazzovuoi I’ve had a positive ANA but GP not willing to refer me, I think because the standard follow up tests didn’t show anything much.

Was just thinking the same. 184/over something horrendous and the GP told me to go and sit in the waiting room for 10 minutes and see if it came down (it didn't). She whacked me straight onto medication and sick leave. I'm very grateful to her, that and another condition wouldn't have been picked up if she hadn't said 'you're a new patient, let's do some checks.'

OP, those don't look too bad at all.

BlackInk · 02/09/2023 14:31

So low blood pressure, and a big gap between top and bottom numbers aren’t a problem?

Here you go OP.

You're normal.
