Last weekend I was away in a thick forest area, went for walks with friends dogs etc.
On my right leg I have something what is like Spider web veins for ages and exactly on this spot I got now this strange mark.
First I thought it’s just eczema, as I suffer from atopic eczema all over my legs, however this felt a bit more itchy than usual eczema patches I got.
I put some steroid cream on it and this is what it looks like.
It does not look like my usual eczema patch!
I was thinking maybe a ringworm?
But I look at it and it looks to me like a bulls eye?
Photo one is from Tuesday.

That's not a typical bulls eye, no.

The dark spot in the middle it’s the vein underneath.

Also the mark looks very shiny and smooth comparing to the rest of the skin..

Look at discoid eczema this looks similar

DyslexicPoster · 02/09/2023 11:24

Normally ticks do not come off without a fight. They rake surprising amount of pressure to remove so I doubt it was a tick. But send the pic to your gp to be on the sake side

Legss · 02/09/2023 11:26

@mumofpickles I do suffer from atopic eczema my whole life, but this one patch just seems a bit different and more itchier.
As I said I thought it maybe a ringworm, but given I was in deep forest almost a week I thought maybe a tick bite. Hopefully it’s only an eczema, it sits directly on the spider veins bunch, maybe that’s why..

I think it’s worse, I put some Dactacort on it just in case it’s Ringworm but still looks strange to me..

The things is it looks much worse than on the photos, more darker, like dark purple huge mark. I don’t know what to think about it.

Ringworm is very round, that just looks like eczema

blueshoes · 02/09/2023 16:46

It does not look like a Bulls Eye but I am not a doctor.

PS I went to a GP to ask about a rash that did look like a big Bulls Eye and found her googling the same images as I did. Hmmmm. For that, she gave me a dose of doxycycline.

Legss · 02/09/2023 17:02

Thanks everyone, I hope it’s just an eczema, I think the vein underneath it makes it loooks like a bite but it’s just a purple vein underneath. If it would not be there it may look just more like eczema.
The thing is I was in a deep forest with dogs last weekend in Norfolk, got back on Wednesday so it could be, I noticed the mark on Tuesday when it was itchy and sore, if I weren’t in the forest, I would never even thought about ticks!

28 days of doxycycline is supposed to do the trick. For Lymes I mean
The blood test for Lymes notoriously unreliable.Nother early symptom is conjunctivitis. Did you also have that?
My GP gave me the doxycycline just in case. I was very glad as my brother was unwell for over a year because his GP gave the runaround.
Apparently more common for men to get ringworm.
