Breast pain and swelling

Two days ago I noticed that my breast was painful and sore when I touched it above the nipple. The same day I noticed that the same area was pink and hot to the touch. The heat and redness has calmed down but it is still tender and now I think I can feel a small lump but at times. I am not pregnant and not breastfeeding. I'm trying to get an appointment to get it checked out but no luck yet. Am I overreacting? There is a family history of breast cancers and breast cysts

Definitely get it checked. Why haven't you been able to get an appointment? Don't let them fob you off.

I should add that I've got a breast cyst. I've had multiple problems and been to the breast clinic three times. One time, I had cellulits and needed antibiotics. It's not always worse case scenario, but it's better to be checked than leave things go.
