Nerve hit during blood test

I just had a blood test and felt an awful shooting pain down my arm which felt like nerve pain.
The phlebotomist said the pain would be gone in a few mins. It doesn’t hurt but I feel numb where the pain was.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Yes, it happened to me - took a day to go back to normal

Yes whilst in labour the midwife inserted something into my hand and hit a nerve, shooting pain up my arm. It sadly took a long time to sort itself out.

Yes. I was getting occasional "electric shocks" down my arm for 2 weeks , but it did recover

Yes - my arm felt like it does when you hit your fanny bone - then went numb for several hours.

Yes, it was a shock! But my pain was over quickly.

Hahaha hilarious typo.

OP yes I have had it once, it did take a good 2 weeks to recover but it did stop eventually!

NeverDropYourMooncup · 01/09/2023 18:15

Only once in hundreds of tests. It's not fun but so, so unusual.

😂 @ the typo

It’s bothering me today, it doesn’t hurt but I keep feeling a popping sensation like there’s a bowl of rice crispies in my arm.
I had asked for it to be done in my other arm as there’s a very good vein there but the phlebotomists insisted- will be far more assertive when I go for another in a couple of weeks.
