Just wanted to thank everyone who took the time to give me positive stories/encouragement a few weeks ago.

Had all four out under GA yesterday, was so incredibly anxious that I was actually crying when they took me into the room where they anaesthetise you.

Am so glad I went through with it though, all the staff were so professional and the anaesthetist just exuded calmness, little scratch on my hand and then I said 'what a funny feeling....' next thing I was awake, sleepy but felt fine.

Mouth quite sore due to the stitches if i am honest but nowhere near as bad as having toothe ache. The main problem is that my jaw is very swollen and stiff so difficult to eat (can feel weight falling off me lol!) and speak. Am making good use of painkillers, over the counter co-codamol and some voltarol which i got on prescription, which makes it much better.

So so relieved to have them out and know they will never give me trouble again.......so now I want to give other people who are due to have this op loads of encouragement too!!!!

oooh....well done you!!!!

I had that op at 16 (they were impacting and causing huge probs even before they came thro!)....I looked like a hamster for about two weeks, and the owrst thing was the horrid bruising.

On a 16yo, bruising that you cannot cover with make-up is a huge big deal!

well done you.
i was sposed to have all 4 out years ago. i had the top two done under local which was, amazingly, practically painless! but still chickened out of going back for the bottom 2 under GA.
besides, my top ones are no longer there to bite my cheeks against the bottom ones any mroe, so why bother?

Aw, I somehow missed your thread, which is odd because I'm always on here! Glad it all went well though. You have just described almost exactly my experience too! Glad you're OK and on the mend.

Good luck, roseblade! I'm glad you're doing OK. Think how trim you'll look for spring.
