First Bite Syndrome

I'm fairly sure I have first bite syndrome. I've not be diagnosed but from researching, it seems to be exactly the condition I'm suffering from.

The first mouthful of food I eat at almost every meal really hurts the salivary glands at the back of my mouth. It can be very painful, but only lasts 5-10 seconds. The more I chew the more the pain goes away.

Does anyone else suffer with this?

I've not been to see my GP about it yet as I seem to forget I suffer from it as it come and goes so quickly. But it does seem to be getting worse (hence my googling/research), so I will them contact tomorrow. Just wondered if it was common? And if there is any medication available? Also wondering if I should be concerned.

I honestly didn’t know this had a name!
I suffer from this regularly. I just assumed it was probably something like a dry mouth post sleeping.
I will look into this a bit more.
Agree that it’s really painful.
