NC as I don’t want this linked to my normal account.
I’ve just been informed that my family does have a history of ovarian cancer, after previously believing there hadn’t been. These cases were 2nd and 3rd degree relatives, so quite close.
Late last year, my by-the-book periods suddenly changed. They’d always been painful, but suddenly the pain was unbearable. Around ovulation, I began bleeding, and every month since, I’ve bled between periods and experienced a painful, pulling sensation in my right side. This pain always comes before the blood, and always at ovulation.
In April, I ended up in hospital with pain. The culture swab came back clear for infections, and I was booked for a scan, which is scheduled for this week. The doctor at the hospital went through my medical history and asked if there was any history of ovarian cancer, which I had said no to. Now I know better, and it’s causing my anxiety to spiral quite a bit. Originally, the hospital are testing me for cysts, PCOS, Endo, etc but now I’m convinced it’s definitely cancer. I’m only in my late 20s, but cancer doesn’t care about how old you are, so there’s little comfort there.
Other symptoms I’ve had are: Tenderness in my side (feels bloated), body aches, fatigue, low mood and an increase in bowel movements and urination. I know there’s 101 things this could be, but I’m going a bit crazy right now with worry so needed a handhold
Thank you
