Shape of poo - what am I doing wrong?

Embarrassed to admit - My outgoings for the last few months and hard and look like rabbit droppings! I haven't had a well formed bowel movement in months and becoming concerned. (I am regular - once a day / every two days on average)

I feel healthy, am average BMI and eat a vegetarian diet with my 5 fruit and veg a day. "Gut health" being banded around recently and IDK if that has anything to do with it.
I think I also drink plenty of water and pee always light + clear so I do not think it is dehydration.

Anyone had the same issues / recommended any help?

How's your fibre intake?

TLDRfuckers · 26/08/2023 16:57

PT strikes again. Hmm

As pp, fibre.
Doe you eat any lentils, they are great for bowel health, as are dates & whole kiwi fruit, along with fybogel if you need it.

Summary. Constipation with small, hard, pebble-like stools is generally a sign of a low-fiber diet. Other contributing factors include drinking too little water or having an inactive lifestyle. Certain medications and medical conditions can also cause constipation, even if you are active and consume plenty of fiber.

How's your fibre intake?

On a regular day i will have eggs on toast / yoghurt / cereal
Sandwich/ salad with fruit and a snack (sometimes nuts, oftentimes sugary) for lunch
Veggie dinner like a cauliflower curry, parmagiana, halloumi fajitas and more fruit for pudding.

I eat beans / lentils only 1/3 days. Think I may be needing more than that...

Thank you. I will look up now. Any other good sources of fibre / recommend how many portions daily?
