Never seen anything like that before. How are you now and have you had it looked at, OP?

lljkk · 26/08/2023 11:36

I'd ask a pharmacist about that. It's nowhere near a normal insect bite.

Momof3000 · 26/08/2023 14:40

I feel fine just very tired I’ll have to go see pharmacist

It’s gone a bit down but it has a bite right in the middle

Oh my! Our family all react badly to bites but I have never seen anything like that. Are you in the UK?
I don't often say this, but I would be trying to see OOH doctor for that, if not A&E.

Aquaphant · 26/08/2023 14:47

Could be a spider bite. What country are you in?

areyouhavinglaugh · 26/08/2023 14:51

Could be a horsefly bite, they really bruise up!

But get it checked out!

Haggisfish3 · 26/08/2023 14:55

I’m seconding spider but agree it deffo needs looking at by doctor asap.

D1nopawus · 26/08/2023 17:46

This is one to get checked out - and I’d go for a medic rather than a pharmacist (brilliant though Pharmacists are) because it’s important to rule out a tick bite that could cause Lyme disease.

No one wants to spend Saturday evening in A&E but it’s better to be safe.

Does it look like the second image here do you think?

Lyme disease

Read NHS information on Lyme disease, which is a bacterial infection spread to humans by infected ticks.

I feel it looks a bit similar to my current bite? I'm not 100% sure what it is, but people have said horsefly. I feel fine, so there's little need to worry (but this is obviously for my case, yours may be different) but just wanted to comment and reassure 😊

Fretfulagain · 26/08/2023 19:21

I’ve got one too

Fretfulagain · 26/08/2023 19:25

That's a week old so fading but goes from almost knee to ankle. I've had three this summer. Two in Greece, once in London (latest one). Itches and is a bit sore cos of bruising around days 2-3 but otherwise meh.

Yes I have no pain and that looks like mine I don’t understand as o was covered and it must of been like fat sweet under knee I have been eating slot of sweet food recently plus was wine tasting

I was wearing jeans. It’s a mystery. I guess it’s just something I’m allergic to. I take an antihistamine when I get a crazy bite but doesn’t seem to do much.
