B12 high!

Hi everyone I’ve had an apparent b12 deficiency and had injections every 10 weeks for 5years , I had some blood tests done in may and my b12 was over 2000. She stopped my injections immediately and said to re-test in 3 months to check my levels.
retested last week and they are 1900 and something so still high but have only come down a bit in three months. So I don’t have a b12 deficiency and she’s shocked they’ve never been re-tested in that time.
she’s said we need to re-test this in another 3 months as they haven’t come down loads.
Shes also booking me in for a chest x ray just to rule things out as my crp is elevated at 12.
can anyone tell me how long it took their b12 levels to come back down in a normal range please?

Did they even check intrinsic factors after diagnosing the deficiency?

We don’t test when giving injections regularly as the results will automatically be higher due to having the injections. Most patients in our surgery are only allowed them every 12 weeks anyway.
Those without pernicious anaemia, who we want to check to see if their levels drop, stay off B12 for 6 months before retesting but patients without P.A get the loading dose but then wouldn’t just blindly be continued on injections anyway.

Hiya 5years ago I went for blood test feeling dizzy etc and then I went back for results and the dr said I had a b12 deficiency and my body doesn’t absorb it so I need a jab every 10 weeks for the rest of my life. Anyway after my blood test in may she said she thinks I’ve been wrongly diagnosed so re-test in 3 months we’ve retested and it’s still near 2000. I haven’t had a b12 jab since April so was shocked to see if that high xx

Hi did your reading ever come down? I had jabs in Aug and my reading is 2300 but all other tests normal. I have no idea if its still in my system and thats why its still high?
