Any idea what this could be?

Hi,
I have had the lump/bump behind my ear for a few weeks now. Slightly painful, bled the other day when I knocked it. Didn’t think anything of it until my husband told me to get it looked at.

Any ideas what it could be? I have an appt in 2 weeks.

thank you.

Sorry I don't know what it is but I've had the same thing a couple of times and it's always disappeared on its own. Good to get it checked and I hope it goes away soon.

Bathe with warm salt water 3x a day ,use Savlon and if it doesn't improve after a week see the GP.

Hi there. It might be a BCC. If so then there's really nothing to worry about. When I had one on the side of my face it was removed surgically. That was a couple/few years ago now, and the scar is barely visible.

I noticed you said that it bled. BCCs will sometimes do that - mine did. It also looks from one of the photos as though it might have a slightly pearl-like appearance, which mine also had.

I'd send the photos to your GP and then ask for a face-to-face appointment, unless they're happy to refer you to dermatology just on the basis of the pics.

Best of luck :)

Looks like a cyst/spot/boil to me. You could try pressing a hot wet flannel on it for 10 mins every so often and see if it bursts.
