Ganglion cyst or callus? Dry lump on ankle/foot

Sorry for the TMI but I've grown this horrible dry lump on my foot. My doctor doesn't seem concerned at all and brushed me off and I'm waiting to see a podiatrist. I'm not entirely sure what it is but it is definitely unsightly. It sits on my right foot/ankle, it used to be uncomfortable but it has no pain now. I do often sit on my feet which may have caused it. But anyone know what this is?

Get some cream for hard skin and keep moisturising and a pumice stone or file. It’s going to take a while to get rid of the dead hard skin. My DH has the same, he sits with his feet under him. You can also buy some moisturising socks and they also do some that get rid of dead skin, they do work in a few days and you will see all the dead skin falling off.

@Mindymomo thank you so much! I think it's from sitting with my feet under me too, I sort of tuck them under my butt haha! Thank you for your tips I'll do a little spree now and start working on it :)
