Only just noticed it a few days ago, its down near my wrist. looks like a faint felt tip pen mark really but will not wash off at all, plus it is raised so i think it might have been a mole thats changed colour slightly.

Too embarrassed to see doc as i am there all the time about other stuff and will look like hypochondriac(sp?)

there are websites with photos of strange moles so you can check it out

some people just have loads of moles especially as they get older so it might be nothing to worry about

i think it worth asking next time you are in - it wont take the doc long to have a quick look

forgot to say it is really itchy too, have looked a photos of moles on website and they all look huge whereas mine is only about 1.5mm across!

Please go to the doctor about this ASAP. Better safe than sorry.

ive got one that is itchy and im having it removed next week. the doc looked at it with magnifying glass and said she though it was ok but as i had a history it was best to get it removed

i think if it is itchy/changing shape or colour then prob best get it checked

A mole that has changed and is itchy = trip to the quacks I'm afraid. Esp if it's small and black.

One of my moles grew recently and it took literally just a few secs for the GP to look at it with a magnifying glass and give me the all clear.

Please go. It's really worth it.

Yes, get them to check it. I had one like this, only a couple of mm across and started itching. GP took a quick look at it, made appt for me to have it whipped off the next week, which he did in the surgery with a local anaesthetic. Sent it off for biopsy, all was fine, but better safe than sorry. I didn't want to bother him with something so tiny either but he took it seriously.

If you really are too embarressed to go to the doctor you could see if you have a local mole cline. Some branches of superdrug have them. You have to pay around £30, but they will check a few for you while you are there. The clinic locations are listed on the superdrug website

no i am not too embarrassed really, its just that it is so small!

it did used to be very faint brown, it was a mole i had never really noticed. But now its black i cant stop seeing it all the time!

and i do spend far too long in the sun plus have fair skin, which goes very brown eventually.

Please please make GP appt and ask for a dermatologist referral - don't be fobbed off if GP just suggests keeping an eye on it. The only way you know if it is OK is to have it removed & tested
