staphylococcus aureus ear infection GP not helping

Hello, I've had a chronic ear infection for years. Each time I am swabbed it comes back positive for staphylococcus aureus. I have received two rounds of oral antibiotics (clarithromycin) and antibiotic ear drops.

Each time it's like being treated with placebo. My symptoms don't improve and I continue to test positive.

My GP or nurse who responded to me today is trying to fob me off saying it's easy to become re-infected with staph and it's probably eczema.

I think it might be MRSA but they say the type of infection is sensitive to the prescribed antibiotics so cannot be MRSA. Is this true? How do I push to get better answers? Is it possible to find out if this could be MRSA? If it is then I could receive alternative treatments that might finally kill it!

If you’ve had swabs then the lab report will have confirmed that they’ve cultured staphylococcus aureus, I’m not sure how that would be wrong?
