Although I’ve had IBS for many many years it has only been the last 4 or 5 years that I have suffered from the addition of upper digestive issues.
Now I’ve turned 50 it is getting worse (not sure of perimenopause is to blame?)
I have had 2 colonoscopies, one gastroscope with biopsies, a pill camera endoscopy, various us scans (all tests have returned as normal - no gastritis, coeliac disease or the like). I am currently half way through a bile acid malabsorption set of scans (first one this week, last one is next week).
I am suffering every day (often all day) with awful nausea with an acidic gnawing feeling deep within my stomach, burping, pain and a general overall queasy horrid feeling.
PPI’s upset my IBS so I have relied on gaviscon for the most part and in all honesty it’s not helping.
I only drink water, avoid all my triggers, rich, greasy and acidic foods etc.
Any suggestions as to what to do? I am so down with it all.
