Lymphoma anxiety

First to say, I have bad health anxiety but that I also have a Dr appointment coming up for this but wanted to see if anyone could relate and calm me down!
I had mononucleosis in 2002, where I had night sweats and swollen nodes, most notable one on neck and one under right armpit which was about 6pm at the time. After recovery from confirmed mono, I still have the lump under the same armpit, now 3.5cm, as well as lump in neck. Numerous GP visits around that time told me these are nodes which enlarged due to the infection and may never go down fully. It's now 2023 and I worry I have some low grade lymphoma (read lots about it). I've had no other symptoms since the fever and night sweats in 2002. I guess I would like to know if anyone has any persistent nodes under their arm/neck following infection that never went down? I can't stop thinking I have low grade lymphoma and that I'm going to leave my 2 little kids. Will push for more investigations when I see the GP. Why does my HA even flare up like this?!

Oops, meant 6cm, not 6pm!

I had tonsillitis in 2004. I can still feel an enlarged node in my neck, been checked by several doctors over the years. I believe it's quite normal to continue to feel one after an illness.

Thanks @Georgie743 .

I was wondering if anyone had one under their armpit that was enlarged for a very long time. Like 20 years?!

@Lees83 i mean this very kindly, I also suffer bad health anxiety. If it's been there 20 years, if it was something sinister I don't think you'd be posting here. I hope a GP examining them and perhaps a full blood count will ease this fear for good.

If it’s been 20 years, there’s no reason to worry.

I have one in my neck that feels like a stone. It's been there 10-20 years. It was scanned and is nothing sinister

It’s completely normal, but for reassurance you could ask your GP for an ultrasound. It’s also unlikely that it’s one lymph node measuring 3 cm, but a little cluster of much smaller lymph nodes that together feels like 3cm.

Thank you all, that really helps. I'll still discuss with the GP but i was also hoping that if that if these lumps were anything bad, I would have had further symptoms since 2003, which I haven't.

I just get scared when I read about slow growing lymphomas and I can't get it out of my mind...
