Our DS in lots of pain. His suffering is getting very difficult to bare. Does anyone have any experience of medications? DS currently taking donperedone and ranitidine
Doesn't seem to be helping. DS born 3 weeks early. Now 9 weeks and weighing 9lb and gaining steadily.

How long has he been taking them? Sometimes it takes a little while for them to kick in.

Ds was on omeprazole and metoclopramide and it made an enormous difference but did take a couple of weeks.

Omeprazole, IME, is a lot more effective than Ranitidine for severe reflux. I took it (hiatus hernia) for a while, it was brill.

I'm so sorry your ds is in pain, Purple...my dd2 has/had reflux and is still on Ran/Dom combo at 15 months. She seemed to have the worst time between about six weeks, and about 14 weeks - possibly a combination of reflux and colic: she used to cry inconsolably every afternoon and evening. It did take a while for the meds to help, I wasn't sure if they were helping at first.

If your DS doesn't improve soon, I'd ask about stronger meds - but I hope he does, its just horrible seeing them suffer like that. xxx

thanks so much for that, Ib & Elibean. Will give it a couple of weeks.
