DS1 had v. bad reflux and was eventually prescribed one which stopped production of stomach acid altogether. I'm racking my brains to think what it was called(15 yrs ago!) but your GP should be able to advise.

Remember to sit him as upright as poss after feeds for a good hour (easier said than done with a little baby)

Hi Purplepolecat,

My DS is now 9 months and his reflux is pretty much settled now.

We went from Gaviscon (Not great, although helped when he was v little) to Ranitidine (helped a lot but stopped working eventually) then have been on Omeprazole for a few months with good results.

It's a horrible thing for a LO to have and for us mums seeing them in pain- I hope you are getting some support too? If you dont know any others with the same problem I found www.littlerefluxers.co.uk helpful. Although I had found out most of the info on the site myself from the net anyway it was useful to read others stories and realise I/we werent alone.

I have just answered another reflux thread here on the health discussions and search for old posts by mummypig- she has some good ideas and links.

Sending sympathy- know it's not much practical help but sending it anyway!
