Inflammatory breast cancer?

Hi,

I have an angry purple and red blotch on my right breast which has grown relatively quickly over the last couple of weeks. It looks kinda like a bug bite but it isn’t painful and has grown rather than gone away with time. My right breast also looks suddenly bigger and is sometimes painful/achey. I went to the doc today and she seemed quite flummoxed and said she wanted to see me again in three weeks and might refer me to the one stop breast clinic then if it is still there. It seems to have got redder and bigger even just over the course of today. Should I go back and push for her to refer me sooner? Or should I just wait it out? I have a history on both sides of breast cancer - mum on one side, grandmother on the other.

Hiya, thank you for the love and support on here ♥️ I had my appointment and they said they could see a collection of fluid under the skin so they reckon it’s a cyst but to keep an eye on it for any changes.

I have a lump in one breast and a rash on the other, occasional pain but no discharge.

im worried this could be breast cancer or IBC

Looks a bit fungal but the only, and best, way to know is to see your doctor, best of luck

Thank you for your response. I also found a lump/ I’m booked in for a mammogram and ultra sound next Wednesday.

I had TNBC in 2006. After op, chemo and rads it has been fine until this week. I have a really big , reddened, painful lump on my right breast. I am waiting for a breast clinic appointment. I have been given antibiotics in the main time. Inflammatory bc is my biggest fear. I have been very stressed and depressed as my dh died in May. He was wonderful when I had cancer before.

Hi, I’m sorry for jumping in but it’s the only place online I can see to ask this really, I’ve had a rash on my breast for the last month that has got worse quite quickly, I went to see my gp and she reluctantly referred me to the breast clinic (she almost laughed when I suggested IBC 🙄) as she couldn’t feel a lump, but from what I’ve read online IBC doesn’t always have a lump.. I just wondered if anyone could tell me what they think please if they’ve had any experience? I’m waiting on my breast clinic appointment and full of anxiety 😩

@Twinmummyanda7yearold you did the right thing by pushing for the appointment at the breast clinic. I hope that your appointment comes through quickly to alleviate some of your natural anxiety.
Moving forward I would suggest that you go to a different GP in your practice to one who is better educated and caring. Wishing you all the best.

Thank you for your reply, I've had it through for December 22nd so not too far away.. I think you're right though I will make sure I request a different doctor in future, I feel like also putting a complaint in if it does turn out to be IBC as if another woman was in my position and she wasn't as 'pushy' then it doesn't bare thinking about.
