Anyone Know About These Tests.....

Hi
Following my dh having an affair with a dubious female, my doctor has persuaded me to be tested for hiv and hepatitis.
Has anyone been tested for these and do you know how long I have to wait for the results as I already feel the wait is going to seriously age me.
I am going for the blood to be taken on Mon.
Thanks

Hello - Not sure how long results take these days, but remember it is highly unlikely you will have a) been exposed, and b)contracted any of these viruses - it is purely a precautionary thing. Please try not to worry and listen to the counsellor/ask lots of questions. They may suggest a second test six months after to double check.
Has h been tested?
Feel for you, but worth doing for your long term health and so you can move on.

No, dont think h has been tested. I haven't told him I am having the tests. Just want to do it for my piece of mind.
The doctor suggested it because the ow is from eastern europe and her h screwed around alot.
Apparently eastern europe is getting as bad as africa now!

Still - try not to worry. You're doing the best thing, and the risk IS very small.
I wish you the very best outcome and brighter future x

I've had another thought - better refrain from sexual contact with H - I imagine you're already in that mindset, but as you don't know his viral status, then mustn't put yourself at further risk.
Any tests he may have ought to be repeated six months after his last contact with this woman to be certain of negative status. If he doesn't get tested then stay away. That's my honest opinion, with your health in mind.
Forgive me for being personal and blunt x

As far as I am aware they last had sex in Oct last year.
We have had sex before and after that time.
He had unprotected sex with her and me.

You just look after yourself for now. He won't be in the clear unless he gets a neg test (at least with HIV) in May, to be generous with timings - at least six months after last contact.
For you, once you have your neg tests, then a retest for HIV six months after your last contact with H will put you home & dry.
Sorry to harp on - I am a control freak.

This will rule out any uncertainties. I do reiterate tho that likelihood of infection is small, and it does feel awful waiting for results but you will get through it x

If you want, update when you get results. Will be thinking of you.

Hi - came to me at 3:30 this morning what a stupid insensitive and thoughtless suggestion it was to come back with your results - I wouldn't advocate publishing medical results on a public site. I keep forgetting how open this is. I'm sorry. Please ignore my previous post.
