Glucose Goddess - questions

Hi, does anyone follow this way of eating? I should start by saying that I don't need to lose weight, I have a bmi of 20. I became interested in this due to hormonal issues, sugar cravings and having pretty bad swings in blood sugar (being hangry, shaking if I went for 2 hours without food etc).

I've started to follow the principles and I absolutely feel more 'even'. A savoury breakfast, for example, has made me feel so much better. BUT I think I am potentially undereating because every few days, i am just absolutely starving and feel like I really need to eat a lot. My main craving is for bread - so my body is definitely missing the starch (I'm not really missing sweet things like I thought I would).

Does anyone have any thoughts or tips. What's your typical day if you follow this regime?

Mine is something like:

  • Greek yoghurt with nut butter (few berries to taste, as recommended). Coffee with single cream.
  • Side salad first. 2 eggs with feta and spinach. Slice of bread/toast last. Couple of bits of chocolate.
  • nuts and seeds for snack.
  • healthy dinner - eating the veg first, then protein, then cards (eg veg, salmon fillet and brown rice). Plus dark chocolate for pudding always.

I really don't feel deprived on this at but maybe it isn't enough. I am very tall.

Are you eating enough fat? That will help you feel fuller as well as give you the energy your body needs.

(Sorry - I don't know enough about the Glucose Goddess to know if she advocates a high fat approach)

Hi, I'm edging towards starting this way of eating. I'm not really doing it for weight (BMI just over 21), but I'd be delighted if I did lose a few pounds. I say edging cause I ate more salad on veg on holiday and tbh my stomach hasn't been right still since I got home on Monday. I had greek yoghurt with a few berries and a small handful of almonds afterwards. Just about to have a cheese sandwich for lunch. Bought some of the ACV tablets from Holland & Barrett before we went but holding off taking them at the moment cause of my stomach. I've read the information and I know that it isn't quite as good as drinking vinegar, but I worry about tooth enamel and also I'm on the go a lot with my job so tablets are more practical. I suppose I'm just looking to feel more energised and a bit less overwhelmed. I'm also quite ashamed of my eating habits, I eat a lot of junk and convenience food.

The thing is, shes not advocating a low carb diet just saying that we should eat carbs last or 'to taste'. Maybe I need to eat more carbs at the end of my meal! I feel like I'm probably eating quite a lot of fat, maybe could do a bit more protein.

@Octopus45 I know what you mean about the vinegar! I aim for a quite vinegary side salad before my meal as that feels a little more 'natural' then drinking the ACV although probably doesn't have quite the same impact.
