Bit worried about my gums again

I think I am a bit paranoid about them, but it is playing on my mind.

My teeth are fine, no problems there, but my gums always feel sore. They occasionally bleed but this seems to have mostly stopped since I started using mouthwash. I do floss occasionally, but not as often as I should.

I am just worried that as they are so sensitive there may be something wrong.

I do have a dentist but am looking for a new one because she ripped me off last time I went.

Should be organising a new one soon and going in next 2 mths or so. Can it wait until then or do I need seeing sooner ??

Am terrified all my teeth wall fall out.

Do your gums feel inflamed?

I often get a patch at the side where they my gum will be red and really sensitive to toothbrushing (ouch!)and red, if I don't floss for a while.

I think you have more chance of losing teeth if your gums receed, but you probably need Comoveneer for a comprehensive answer..

recede

nutcracker · 28/02/2008 18:48

My gums have receeded a bit but not majorly so.

It is normally one patch of gum on the top at the side that hurts, but it is making me mega paranoid about the whole of my gums now.

If I floss every single day, brush twice a day and use mouthwash, will it be ok then ??

I am not even sure that there is a problem tbh.

my dentist told me my gums are in a state, i have to see the hygienist next week. dreading it but can't be worse than the abscess i had a month ago.

you may just need some abiotics.

filthymindedvixen · 28/02/2008 18:51

what about trying that corsodyl mouthwash tht is specifically for gum problems? ( gingivitis, after surgery, oral thrush, mouth ulcers)
I have a wisdom tooth coming through very slowly and painfully and it was making my gums really sore. the mouthwash has helped massively. As it is an anti-bacterial solution, might tide you over til you can see a dentist.

I did try that mouthwash once, but it tasted so foul that I chucked it out LOL.

Will buy some more.
