I’m so scared, I have this procedure tomorrow 😢

I just started drinking the Plenvu and it’s disgusting! It’s making me feel sick. I’m drinking it slowly and alternating with water.

my question is, can anyone who’s had this before, tell me his long it might take to work?! And will I be pooping all night?!

thank you 💐💩

Mine started working just after I started taking the second dose. I remember being a bit concerned about whether it would work. It is vile stuff! This is honestly the worst part. If you have a straw, try with that - means you don't have to smell it.

Usually takes 30 mins to 1hr to work. Drinking the liquid is the worst bit- suck a mint and drink through a straw to help. Chilling the liquid also helps.

Make sure that you have vaseline/ sudocreme by the loo when it starts working! Hope all goes well.

Also you won't be pooping all night! Should all be over in a few hours.

Thank you!! I haven’t got to take the second dose until tomorrow morning 🤔

I've had 5 colonoscopies and I promise you the medication is the worse part of it all, it's vile, ask someone to gets you some orange codial its makes it taste better.

Please don't be scared to ask for a sedative either, they will give you one to help with your nerves, the camera is has thin as a pencil, it's only when they blow you with air that you get discomfort.

X

Thank you. I can confirm it took half an hour to work 😳

The prep for colonoscopy
Is worse than the actual thing

Timetochangegonzo · 14/08/2023 20:07

Colonoscopies are actually a piece of cake. I’ve had dozens. Once the prep is done that’s the hard part

worldwidetravel2017 · 14/08/2023 20:29

Also had a gastroscopy
Had sedation and slept through it

I made up the plenvu and put it in the fridge for half an hour to chill. Necked it through a straw. It wasn't as bad as I expected.
I had gas and air instead of a sedative as I wanted to drive home after and not wait.
I had no major discomfort, just a sensation of rummaging, a bit like a c-section.
I honestly didn't find it anywhere near as awful as I had heard.
