Earache but no infection?

I’ve had an ongoing issue and just come out of the doctors to be told that there’s no infection and no further thoughts on what my issue is.

last year i had severe dental issues - these have all been rectified for about 8 months but i know they can trigger ear issues.

a couple of months ago, i started getting some ear pain that felt deep in my ear and sometimes travelled into my jaw and temple. I mentioned to my dentist at my check up and he confirmed it wasnt tooth related as far as he could see but check on ear issues.

local surgery confirmed it was a deep inner ear infection, prescribed antibiotics. Finished the course but some weeks later, still getting pain, although not as severe as before. Its not travelling into my jaw but i am getting some pain around the temple.

i have had some short tinnitus bursts, i think my hearing might be becoming a little impacted and for the last couple of months i have had a twitch in the same side eye, my lower eyelid (not sure if related!) and its increased in frequency of the twitch significantly recently.

and yet - no infection? I was advised to take ibuprofen for a few days as it may be some residual inflammation but ive already been doing this and didnt feel heard by the nurse.

im not one for overly worrying or visiting the gp a lot - but im concerned about the development of the tinnitus and the twitch and i have a feeling the ear ache will increase over the coming weeks. Does any one have any thoughts?

A colleague had what he thought was an ear infection or similar that just wouldn't budge. Saw a dentist-all clear; GP antibiotics etc etc; ultimately referred to hospital- nothing showed up on scans and no idea what was causing it. After months of pain he saw a different dentist who found a hairline crack in a tooth below the gum line- all sorted now.
