Does Remiprill help improve heart function?

I believe it can be prescribed for cardiomyopathy/heart failure
think I was prescribed it when I was first diagnosed with DCM but that period is a bit hazy in my memory as I was very unwell & had lots of combinations of different drugs, why do you ask OP are you concerned about something?

Lifesforloving1 · 13/08/2023 19:34

@dontcallmelen I had a scan on my heart in August 2022 -resulting in my global function ET being between 45 - 47%dropping slightly since 2018 where it was at 50%

i have since been prescribed Remiprill which I personally think has helped me resulting in no more heart flutters etc & have more energy! I went for an ECG 4 weeks again & my results were better the GP said however they never told me what the update on my function was now. Are ACE inhibitors designed to help with this kind of thing ? The reason I have yearly ECGs is because I’ve had a stroke very young.

I believe so Ace Inhibitors are a fairly standard drug treatment, when I was I diagnosed my heart function EF was 29% over the years it’s has stabilised at between 44-48% I’m on Sacubitril & ( Bisoprolol very small dose as I don’t have high blood pressure) as many of the heart drugs I couldn’t tolerate.
I also had a stroke which upon investigation was caused by DCM.
could you perhaps request or get the GP to request further information from the ECG.

@dontcallmelen
wow, what an improvement for you ! Very cleaver what meditation can do hey ! Yes, I think I will… I’m guessing it’s helped as the GP said the ECG is looking better… how old are you if you don’t mind me asking ? I’m 30 ! But had my stroke at just 5 from a virus in my heart…

@Lifesforloving1 agree medication is miracle some times
oh my you are so young I’m sorry you are dealing with such health issues, I was late forties when I had the stroke/diagnosis im early sixties now, you could also request another echocardiogram possibly.

@dontcallmelen

Thanks I will do ! The good news is that my heart condition is only mild & I do have it monitored every year. Was told not to worry myself silly… ( even though I did ) & the Remiprill has improved the function which is good. Good luck to you. 😃

@Lifesforloving1 I know easier said than done at times, it’s good you are being monitored & HF is stable, my best wishes for you as well💐
