Ramapril for blood pressure

Hi all,
I've got high BP so was put on 2.5mg of ramapril last year, not worked so they upped it about 6 weeks ago to 5mg.
This hasn't brought it down enough so they have upped it to 7.5mg this week.
I take it a bedtime so it doesn't make ne dizzy but I've noticed as the dose is upped I have more symptoms going on.
My joints ache, I am lethargic and my heart occasionally feels like its pounding out of my chest (it isn't, its about 80bpm)
They aren't really bad but they are making me do less.
Has anyone else had this with ramapril?

Not those exact side effects but I couldn't take it - I was on a low dose and it made me really dizzy. I could barely stand, it was awful.

So far I haven't been given an alternative and they are just monitoring me. My higher readings were strange blips rather than a general pattern though.

Hi! I was on ramapril a few years ago but I got the awful constant cough (which can be an side effect) and often had low bp dips / dizzy spells. Gp changed me to Candestartin which has been great for me.

I found the ace inhibitors made me feel awful , I tolerate low dose beta blockers better

It was ok but as the dose has been upped its got worse.

I am on it but also alodepine. I take them both in the morning had side effects with alodepine was increased .. talk to Gp about side effects . Are you monitoring your bp yourself . It may be dropping low

My dh Is on the same mg. Are your tablets / capsules 1x 7. 5 mg ?
Dhs are 2x 2.5mg & 2x 1.25 mg so he can split them to take am/pm as 2 x 3.75 mg.
He doesn't get any side effects by doing this.

I was on Rampiril to start with but it gave me a dreadful cough so I’ve switched to Losartan. I do notice fatigué and aching limbs but I’m not sure if it’s to do with being old and fat.

Doubt it’s going too low if your bp is high enough to need anti hypertensives to be honest.
Could be something unrelated to rampiril. Perimenopause ?

My blood pressure is in a good place at last so not low. I am well into perimenopause but never had these symptoms before.
Its like my heart is pounding but its not and my muscles hurt so much. I was overtaken by oldies today while walking!! 😂

Go back to the GP,I had to go through about 4 different meds before I found one I could tolerate and now I take 2 low doses of different ones. Ramipril made me feel so nauseous it was awful, Lisiniprol gave me terrible chest pain , Amlopidine made me swell up,urghhhh was truly horrible.

Update:
The leg pain got so bad that my GP has taken me off Ramapril and put me on a different one.
