Ocular hypertension

Anyone else been diagnosed with this?

I already .have got corneal erosion and corneal dystrophy.

But my most recent appointment at the eye clinic they said I have hypertension too, although only in one eye.

I have got drops for it, but I'm a bit worried. If you have this, have you managed to avoid glaucoma?

I’ve had this for years and not developed any eye damage as a result, despite being untreated. Pressure has gone up even more recently and I have been offered the choice of either drops or laser treatment (I’m going to get the laser thing I think) to lower my risk of it progressing to glaucoma.

I think due to family history, history of migraines and other factors my personal risk of progressing to glaucoma was over 50 percent but generally the risk of ocular hypertension progressing to glaucoma is only around 10 percent? With drops, even less?

I do get a lot of eye pain and headaches, which the eye hospital say aren’t related to the high pressure but so suspect they are wrong about this.

Thanks that sounds encouraging

The only real symptom I have is that I get loads of floaters. Other than that I'm ok. It was actually quite a shock about the pressure. I knew about my other conditions.

Apparently it's not related to the rest of what's going on with my corneas. It got picked up when I went for monitoring for that though.
