ok, I have been in pain since monday. started in upper tummy and back (about kidney area, but only on my left side) feeling as tho I was being stabbed, and coming a waves like contractions!

has been getting worse since, and then yesterday I also got shoulder pain and the pain started to move down.......it is now in lower tummy, still on the left, feel's like bad period pains

went to docs this morning as was knackered.......I also have been going to bed really early too for me, and have felt that bad I didn;t even want to watch CSI or Torchwood (which to me is clearly meaning I am ill!), but still not sleeping great and waking as tired as I went to bed on. I am not even bothered to put make-up on either, and even did the school run in my 'relaxy slobby' clothes.

anyhoo........doc reckons from the description maybe kidney stones, I did a wee sample and it was positive for blood and protien so she is sending that off, and also sent me for tummy xrays which have now been done.

BUT

She has goven no other advice. I am to ring for wee results tomorrow afternoon, altho they may not be back till monday.....xrays are 10-14days before they will be back, and in the meantime rest, fluids, painkillers.....if pain gets worse then go to A&E, and hopefully it will either pass on its own or may have already done.

she gave no anti-b's even tho I do clearly have something wrong with my wee, no painkiller advice (altho I do have plenty codiene still from my car accident so to be fair, that will probably suffice!), no advice over how it may/would feel if I DID happen to pass the 'possible' stone, what they may do if there is one, and what they would do if they pain does get worse, which right now it is altho I have been poked and prodded so am ignoring for now....

oooh....and the xray lady took the pic and then sent me away....no chatting, no telling me if they did see anything (altho I realise that it isn't their job to diagnose me), and I am now feeling like I have been left hanging!

I thought about googling, but then that can scare you, I don;t know for certain anyway that it is a kidney stone/stones, so am here hoping for someone to have been thro it and can so tell me what I could maybe expect.

please

i have never had them , but hubby has had them 3 times and says he has never felt pain like it. In fact was admitted today as an emergency to have some blasted, he had about 12 in his left kidney largest being 9mm. He has 6 in his right kidney which they are going to blast next week.

If you are still in pain i would go to A&e tomorrow, rather than wait but thats me becuase i am a coward.

well this morning I feel less painful, but definately achy......so either it was a stone and has now passed (altho I have had no pain with weeing as such, more like when I have had an infection and I feel like I have to 'think' the wee out IYGWIM {sorry if TMI}).

I HAVE slept well, which is the first night since tuesday, which could be down to the codiene and me relaxing enough to go to sleep.

I am still wondering about possible wee infection as I am more achy down low now, period achy, and feel generally 'out fo sorts'. I am ok for driving and school runs tho, and also my long awaited hair appointment......shame about going out, but altho feel up for hair, definatley don't feel up for dressing up/make-up/drinking!

hey ho.......

Wee infection feels more likely to me having seen you iyswim. Yay for feeling better and having hair done. Do you fancy booking in my eyebrows for either a Weds morning (not NEXT Weds though) or a day you fancy bonding with the dude whilst it is done?

Laptop f*cked.

Panicking lots.

Psychomum5 · 29/02/2008 08:17

well.....hair is at 11.15, so am I to assume that you heading here???
