How can I make her sleep a bit easier

Hi all,

My dd is 3 and has just come down with a very very bad cold, she has a raging temperature, can't stop sneezing, her eyes and nose are constantly running and she doesn't want anything to eat, but, she is drinking alot of fluids.

I was wondering if anyone has any words of wisdom on how to make her nights more comfortable, she will be sleeping with me until she is better and no doubt I will be up a few times in the night.

I have given her some medised and have some Karvol capsules, vapo-patches and some coole and soothe, should I leave the windows open with a t-shirt on and a vapo patch on the front, or should I keep the windows closed and put karvol on her pillow, I don't think either dd's has had a cold so bad before.

Any help will be appreciated.

TIA

Steam might help her breath a bit easier. Not much good overnight I know but it might help her get to sleep.

rub Vicks Vapour rub all over soles of her feet, particularly the instep and ball of the foot. Relexology points there and it should help her to breath. Be generous with it.

Try and get her to sleep propped up on extra pillows a bit.

McKenzie, on the soles of the feet????????? i've never heard that before, saying that I've heard that if you rub a raw onion onto the soles of your feet that you can taste them within an hour.

I'm willing to try anything for her, though dh will have to do the vicks vapo-rub as I am allergic to it, thats why I prefer calpol.

Thanks all for your tips.
