Anyone got experience with a corneal transplant?

Hi

I have keratoconus in both eyes. I had cross linking surgery 3 years ago which unfortunately failed. I got a massive infection afterwards. I went to the hospital today for my usual 6 monthly check up and they've put me forward for a transplant in my left eye which is definitely the worst

Has anyone got any experience because I'm absolutely terrified

I don’t have experience……yet. But am having corneal transplant for Fuchs Dystrophy October 18th at Moorfields.
I have to have a cataract removed first then wait two weeks for the transplant., which should be 18th. Am booked in.
there is a website FuchsFriends uk. ( there’s a US one). Lots of info and if you post a question usually one or several people get back.

it is nerve racking I know and I’m anxious about it but lot of those who have already had it say all good.

Where are you having it done?
