My DH has a home blood blood pressure machine as he has high blood pressure. Occasionally I check myself.
Today it has been 93/61 then 91/61. Maybe ok but my pulse is in the 90's , no matter how still I sit. Is this normal?
I am a panic merchant so feel free to tell me I'm being silly

A resting heart rate of 90 something is a bit high...but if you're a panic merchant you might have just explained it!

IncognitoMam · 10/08/2023 07:28

Is your BP normally low?

maratara · 10/08/2023 07:52

True

Best I've ever got on this machine is 83

The low bp is not a problem? I've googled it and it seems borderline, but nothing seems to be done. My DH gets tablets. I just get to stress.. When I was pregnant my bp was 70/50 . Nobody worries. Except me!!

Do you drink enough through the day?

Greybeardy · 10/08/2023 08:19

If the BP machine is for your husband is the cuff the right size for you? A cuff that's too big will under-read. That BP is probably fine if you feel well (and the mean arterial pressure is normal so it probably is ok) - it's all about context though. If you feel unwell/are prone to fainting then that's a bit different.

Yeah, I was going to say to OP to have a glass or two of water and 20mins later check bp. See if there’s a difference.

My blood pressure is routinely 90/65 and my RHR has always been 84 so not much lower. As far as I know I don't have any heart issues so I wouldn't worry

LadyGardenersQuestionTime · 10/08/2023 08:36

How old are you and how active are you? They are both in normal range.

maratara · 11/08/2023 11:07

Ta everyone. Yes I have been prone to fainting since I was young, although I haven't in years. This morning I had to lie down though as I could feel it coming on. I will try to drink more water. So there's no tablets for low blood pressure, just for high. I suppose that means its not a bad thing to have then. I keeled over so many times when I was younger it was awkward. Now I know to lie down.

Oh I'm 52 and not very active @LadyGardenersQuestionTime . Funnily most of my activity is doing my garden!
