I am nearly 40, some years back I was diagnosed with PMDD. I was on Yasmin contraceptive pill for years but 2 years ago the nurse said she wouldn’t prescribe anymore. Because of my age and risk of strokes and clots. Since then my PMDD has got out of control, I am waiting for a referral to gynaecology to discuss a complete hysterectomy. I have today begged the nurse to let me go back on Yasmin until the gynae appt comes through and something else can be done. She has prescribed it but told me how high the risks are of a stroke, should I hold out ? Are the risks that high?

with a complete hysterectomy including removal of ovaries - what are peoples experiences with their sex drive afterwards? Everything I read is that your relationship is doomed as your sex drive becomes non existent!

my daughter has had a hysterectomy at the age of 27 for endometriosis. They left her ovaries. As for the sex drive bit there is a solution, Testosterone. I use this as I’m going through the menopause. Unfortunately I have a uterus so have to take progesterone to protect it, I also have an estrogen patch. The progesterone is a killer for me, I honestly think I’m going mad, I used to get PMT really bad prior to menopause and took natural remedies to help. Agnus Castus was amazing. The pill didn’t really help as it has progesterone in it, it caused so many problems.

I was offered a hysterectomy at the age of 30 for my PMT, that’s when I discovered the Agnus Castus, which was recommended by the gynaecologist. I sometimes wish I’d had the hysterectomy then I wouldn’t have to suffer the bloody progesterone.

Agnus Castus is easy to source, buy a high strength, give it a month and you should see a difference. We used to have a horse and she had serious hormonal issues to the extent that she was dangerous. We would put Agnus Castus in her feed and had a happy mare, it’s really good stuff.
