Hi,

I'm on my fourth round of it this year (I'm a teacher 🙄).

This episode started two weeks ago and GP said it was viral. By day 13, I called again as ears in agony, pain swallowing, temperature etc and given 5 days of antibiotics.

I'm not better and due to finish them tonight. My problem is we fly abroad on Tuesday so I'm not sure what to do...!

Any advice please?!

Dd has just had a severe bout of tonsillitis aswell as antibiotics she had difflam spray which helped her. You can buy it from the chemists.

Ask at a pharmacy for this. Pour a cap-full into a glass and add another 4 or 5 caps of luke warm water. Then gargle with it for as long as you can manage. Eat/clean teeth etc first so it can stay on your throat as long as possible.

I’ve just had my first bout since 1992!
Where the heck has this come from!
Wishing you all better soon. Xx

I saw a GP today (she was amazing). Did a throat swab and blood test to check for glandular fever.

She thinks I'm just really run down and need rest so will keep dosing up with painkillers and see what these tests come back with.

So fed up with feeling poorly!
