Viruses with no cold symptoms?

Every few months I seem to be struck down with fatigue, with nausea/vertigo type symptoms.

It seems to coincide with DC bringing home a virus and doing lots of sneezing, coughing, runny noses.

But I can't remember the last time I've had cold symptoms like this, years ago probably! Do you think the fatigue is my version of their cold, or could there be something else wrong with me?

Does anyone else catch their DC's viruses but get totally different symptoms?

DH must think I'm being lazy today but I'm stuck to the sofa feeling like I can barely stay awake even though I look perfectly healthy!

Hi
i get this yes. I often get several days when I have malaise and fatigue. Sometimes I can just push through it sometimes I end up in bed. And I panic I’ve got ME then one of the kids comes down with a cold and I realise that was it. I feel like such a fraud as I have no concrete symptoms and actually I’m sure this is worse than a cold. I suspect a weak immune system as my
body doesn’t create symptoms to get rid of it. It’s definitely dysregulated anyway. Sorry no help apart from peer support!

You certain it isn't hayfever? They say pollen is high this year.

Might be I guess but doesn’t seem to occur with increase in hayfever symptoms. I have chronic hayfever and on strong anti histamines all year round. Feels different though, malaise and heavy limbs.

Thanks both! I wondered about hay-fever but I've never had it and imagined hay-fever came with itchy eyes/runny nose etc which I don't have.

It's probably your immune system going into action to fight off the virus.

No hayfever can make you feel like you’re ill. I don’t get itchy eyes/runny nose, I get fatigue, sleepiness, irritability, headaches on waking and migraines at night, depression, joint pain and sometimes an itchy throat. But rarely sneeze
