Is my leg broken?!

I was stupidly doing a dance routine with my dd11 last night and I had to lift her. We fell over and my leg went underneath me, the pain is agony. I can still walk but it's painful and wiggle my toes, it feels more like a pulled muscle. Should I get it checked out or am I wasting a and e's time?

Get it checked

Definitely an a&e job

Definitely get it checked; another poster recently asked a similar question after walking round for days after an innocuous injury, wasn’t sure if they’d be wasting medics time (some replies said yes they would, others said to get checked) turned out she had broken bones in her foot and was put in a boot for 6 weeks!!

My X-ray vision only works through the internet if you’re within a 10mile radius, so I suggest A&E close range X-ray might be needed.

Get it checked it sounds like it was a poltergeist moment and the leg was in a weird position not just a trip etc.

A&E. My friend spent a month thinking her foot would get better. She finally got it x-rayed and she'd broken it. It took a long time to heal because she didn't get it seen to sooner.

VeridicalVagabond · 06/08/2023 12:09

Get it checked. Friend of mine did similar but to her foot, didn't get in checked for four weeks but she'd actually broken her foot. Because she'd been walking on it for weeks she'd done a lot more damage and it took far longer to heal. Better safe than sorry!

Potentially torn ACL. Get it checked.

Thanks all we have an urgent care centre where I am so I'll pop down today and get it checked over.

Where is the pain? If you'd broken your femur you'd be in no doubt and would be in screaming agony. It's such a large bone.

It is possible to break either of your tibia/fibula (lower leg/calf bones) and still walk. And always possible to break foot bones, that's a very common one particularly from heavy landings, and still be able to walk.

Some Ligament tears can also be very painful initially but still walkable. Best get checked.

@VeridicalVagabond I'm now wondering if we've got the same friend!
