'Leaking' after bath - weird - blush!

Since giving birth 11 months ago, whenever I get out of the bath, I leak a little liquid onto the floor It doesn't feel like I'm peeing - more like the sensation of discharge dripping out - if I try to stop it I can't - but it's very much liquid - could this be bathwater, or am I in fact peeing a little without knowing it?

tee hee...lindsey reminded me that that this also happens after a dip in the pool.............! first time i thought i had my period - oh horror of horrors. To my immense relief it was only (slightly contaminated) chlorinated water....

Recently discovered, btw, that this does not happen when you're pregnant - or, oddly enough, for some time after birth. At least not to me.

Hilarious! Can I just say: this happened to me pre-birth and doesn't happen any more - weird eh?

I only started leaking a few months ago (2 years after last baby was born?). It happens after some baths, but not after others, very confusing!

Useful tip: Before you get out of the water, stand up, grap youre buttocks, and squeeze/pull upwards this seems to get rid of most of the water before you step out of the bath

It did happen to me before having my baby, then stopped while I was pregnant and it is happening again now since I stopped breastfeeding 1 month ago!!! (baby is now 7 months old)... I never really asked myself question... It is one of these female things I suppose!

lindsey, I discovered that trick while drying my bum after bath one day

had an hour long soak this morning...and no leaking or gushing today....very random is this phenomenon!

I have perfectly good muscles, very good in fact! Dh will tell you so (but I hope he doesn't come on here and do that ) and I've always leaked a bit, I usually just sort of squirt it out like a water pistol before I get out of the water now I'm used to it!

(Am I the only one who can squirt water like a water pistol? How embarrasing )

This happened to me after a session of aqua-aerobics in the local swimming pool - when I was getting into my friend's car!!! - it only happened the first time - hasn't happened since (Thank God - I was very )

SD - you created a monster! i luv mumsnet. Considering there is such a non-correlation between leakage and childbirth i think we have to chuck this one sideways...laterally thinking, could it possibly be associated with a vaccuum effect, connected to how 'uptight' one is when climbing into a bath?????? just a thought this thread makes me wee myself laughing (almost) every time a look at it lol

This is an utterly bizarre concept to me! Am feeling thoroughly abnormal that i dont leak after bathing!

FA, think i'm gonna give the water pistol thing a go, although it sounds like an aqcuired technique to me. Just how long have you been practising? pelvic tilts, 1...2... and squeeeeeeeeeze you must be very fit in the bum region!
