Knee cap pain

Im currently on holiday abroad but due to fly home tomorrow which is why I'm asking for advice really.

On Sunday I slipped and fell around the pool. Fell as a bit of a funny angle and quite hard (I'm not a small lady). My right knee took a bashing and so did my right elbow. I kind of fell backwards but sideways if that makes sense, I didn't hit my head though.

I could walk straight away so was happy no serious injuries, just a bit tender from the fall. I can walk fine but since the fall my kneecap is incredibly tender and hurts to even lightly brush it with my fingers and if I press harder it's so painful. There is no obvious selling and no bruising that I can see. Pain relief not helping though it doesn't hurt when I walk, only when I touch it.

I haven't gone to the hospital here, mostly due to the fact we are flying home tomorrow and don't want to be delayed coming home plus if there is something wrong I'd rather have treatment at home.

I'm worried now I've got a fracture or something but my husband thinks I'm mad and says I wouldn't be able to walk if I did and it's probably a bruise but when I had a hairline fracture in my ankle years ago I could walk and it only hurt to touch it which is why I'm worried.

I feel so embarrassed too about the fall. I'm bloody 36 not 86 😣😣

Would you wait for a GP appt or just present to urgent treatment centre when I land to see if they can X-ray it?

Thanks
