Sounds crazy I know and sorry for the TMI but I'm really scared! I put hemmerhoid cream on and I felt some sharp bits so I went to take them away and they where gone I've convinced they are going to go in my colon and fall in my appendix, I have really bad anxiety does this seem likely to happen? Many thanks.

No. Not in a million years. Not in a billion years. No, not ever will that happen.

Sounds like there were probably little bits of dried faeces there, and putting the cream/ointment moistened the pieces so they "disappeared"

Not something I'd worry about, but if it is worrying you to this extent I'd try to get in to see a GP etc even just for reassurance, and possibly to see if there are any ways you can improve on this anxiety.

Will not happen.

OP, as per previous posters, this can't happen. The bowel is pretty much a one way system. Having been a lifelong sufferer of piles and a user of Anusol, I can confirm that it isn't at all unusual to come across a hard dried bit of faeces that softens and vanishes after using the cream. And if that's not too much information, I don't know what is 😀

Nothing can or will go back up, even if you were doing a headstand.

What's more pressing is your anxiety- do you have help for it?
