My lovely Mum (late 80s) has suffered with synovial cysts on her spine for many years. This past week, she seems to have grown another one and can now barely move. Even sitting is agony for her.
I can hear her getting more and more low, BUT she will not take decent painkillers, can't take ibuprofen, and will not see a doctor 🤷🏻♀️ She has just today started taking paracetamol, but unsurprisingly, it's not touching the sides. She does use Voltarol gel a bit, but it's hard for her to reach.
Is there anything that can be done?
When first diagnosed they said no to an op due to her age. And she wouldn't have gone for it anyway. Because stubborn as hell! 🤯
I could probably persuade her to the doctor if a fine needle aspiration could be done with no MRI (claustrophobia). I've had aspirations of various things guided just by an ultrasound.
Is this something that could work for a synovial cyst?
