If anyone in the medical Field tell me about Petechiae my sons had a fever recently, gone off his food now looking close to his skin he had this spotted about his whole body? I've been to the doctors already And they always put it down to viral, unfortunately I've only just noticed the petechiae so I didn't even get a chance to mention it. Is this a common rash in children or is it something I should be taking seriously as it doesn't blanch. (He also complaining of itchiness for about a week now)

Post viral rashes are very common. Is he still unwell in himself or just itchy now?

My daughter gets petechiae when she's had a virus and been vomiting or coughing - burst vessels from the physicality of the movement, so it's probably nothing to worry about.

However, I do always say to get them checked it's really not worth the what if - how is he presenting overall?

He's not eating still he's not eaten for 4 days, slightly pale, he's complaining of itchiness still, fever has subsided for the meantime, the thing is he's not really coughing much at all, he's been more tired recently (day time naps) quite irritable also

If you call 111 they will likely tell you attend a&e - they did this with me as they often do with many cases like this. Personally, I'd take him to be seen just to be sure either via GP, walk in or child a&e dept. Petechiae and some of the symptoms you've said throw up as a red flag. Our child a&e department is great and doesn't have long waits, but 111 will definitely give you the right advice as to where to take him. Ask him to tuck his chin to his chest - feel his hands and feet, too - 111 usually ask you to check this xx
