Im in the process of starting fertility treatment as historically I’ve had two ectopic pregnancies.
I had an vaginal ultrasound last Thursday which was approx day 19 of my cycle and I typically have 27-28 day cycles. Everything looked ok on the scan no polyps etc but 24 hours later I started heavily spotting and it’s continued since. I’ve previously had a history of spotting before periods as I think I’ve had borderline PCOS and low progesterone levels but that was many years ago.
It seems like my period is trying to start but it seems weird that the one time in recent years that I have spotting a week before my period is a day after an internal ultrasound. I’ve read about cervical ectropion and know it could be this but would i be bleeding for this long? Or I’m guessing it would be hormonal. All of my smears have fine to date.
Any experience of this would be appreciated.
