FND diagnosis ..shared with Manager

I received a FND (Functional Neurological Disorder) diagnosis last week and shared this with my Manager today. The first thing she said was ‘is it caused through stress’? I feel it is but felt a little dismissed by her. I had been suffering with spasms on my left side although these have ceased thankfully. I’m left feeling tingly and numb in my limbs and am often fatigued. I didn’t get chance to explain this to her and I felt because the spasms were no longer, she seemed to think the issue had gone.
I’m concerned she won’t record what I’ve said in our meeting. Should I just get on with it or talk to her again?

It’s not an unreasonable question for her to have asked given you accept it was/is likely stress related.

Take it you have logged the issue and see how things go. If you need adaptations or time off you can broach it again.

What more do you actually want her to do?

Could you request an occupational health assessment or personal risk assessment?

Yes, this sounds ok, so details are logged. I’ve never had to complete one before so will request one.
