Broken crown on tooth advice

I had root canal treatment on that molar 15yrs ago and part of the crown has broken off. How long can this be left? My dentist is away for a month and the receptionist said they will ask if another dentist at the practice will see me- but couldn't guarantee it. She suggested ringing 111- but surely this is a waste of their time and what would they even do?

I don't think its an emergency, but surely leaving it a month could cause further damage. I've already called 3 other dentists, but even paying private, 2 couldn't take me on, and the 3rd also had a 3 week wait. Any advice appreciated.

I had this happen during lockdown had no choice but to wait until the dentists opened up again.

I rang and left a message on the dentists answer machine and was seen fairly quickly when they reopened but meanwhile another piece had broken off and my tooth was so badly damaged by the time I saw the dentist it had to be extracted. Because the tooth next to it isn’t the best I can’t have a crown and the price of an implant my only option has gone up to 4K with my dentist. So I have a gap where my tooth once was (which I find embarrassing). You might be luckier than me but in my experience I would avoid leaving it too long.

I'm hoping I won't lose the tooth! As far as I can tell- the root canal and existing tooth is still all ok and its just the crown that cracked- I hope 😬

I'm consciously eating on the other side of the mouth, but not sure I can do this for a month.
